Oh The Agony

In My Hand I Hold A Ball,
White And Dimpled, And Rather Small.
Oh How Bland It Does Appear,
This Harmless Looking Little Sphere.
By Its Size I Could Not Guess,
The Awesome Strength It Does Possess.
But Since I Fell Beneath Its Spell, Continue reading

Floatilla and The Noodler

Danielle, Meagan, Amy, Trevor, Christy, Jennifer, Tina, Doug, Auburn, Lilia, Amanda, Taylor, Alex, and Hannah

One of the classes I have been taking this term is Design II (I took Design I last term).  Design I mostly taught two-dimensional design techniques and practices, and Design II is structured around three-dimensional art (sculpture).  I wasn’t sure how much I would like a sculpture class, but I have actually really enjoyed it.  Throughout the term our assignments have focused on helping us utilize our strengths and improve our weaknesses, and although it’s been a struggle at times, I feel like I have learned a lot about design and about myself as an artist.

The “Final” for our class was a group project called Floatilla.  I despise group projects, and I usually hate every minute I am forced to work on them, but this project ended up being a complete blast! Continue reading

They Are Underwear!

After Harley’s dance class last weekend, I wrote a post about the “foot underwear” I had to order for her.  I was astonished that a piece of dance foot-wear was called foot-undiez.  Well, they arrived today, and by golly, they look just like miniature tightie-whities!

For the Birds!

Today.  It is a day that I would be perfectly happy just deleting from my memory.  It was a day that had a rough start, and with the exception of a small bright spot during ceramics class, just kept getting worse.

I woke up this morning cranky because I had a dream I didn’t like and I didn’t sleep well – actually, I don’t think I’ve slept really well for nearly a month now.  So, I woke up crabby, and I hate it when that happens, so that just makes me crabbier. Continue reading

My Year – 2011 In Review

Amy January 2011

I’ve been working on writing this post in my head for a while now, and I decided the only way to actually get it done was to sit down and start typing.  If a stranger looked at my life during the year 2011, they would probably think it was a horrible year that I am happy to leave behind.  They would be a little bit accurate – there were specific events and activities in 2011 that I would just as soon forget and leave behind.  With a quick glance, all the focus would be on the negative events because they were the biggest; however, on further investigation there were far more positive activities, events, and blessings that happened and outweigh all the negativity.  I’m going to re-cap my year by month, and hopefully I’ll be able to link to a previous post for each subject I talk about.
