Reagan’s Annie Experience

IMG_9666

My youngest daughter, Reagan, has been participating in the play “Annie” at our local playhouse, the Elgin Opera House.  She auditioned for the show in June, and they started rehearsal in September.  Reagan’s part in the play was limited to the first act and ended after the song, Hard Knock Life.  Reagan played one of the extras as an orphan. Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 Blocks 10, 11, & 12

I ran across the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 project at Bear Creek Quilting Company an decided it would be a fun project to try.   The project is now in it’s third week, and I’m still really enjoying myself.  Blocks 10, 11, & 12 were released Monday, and I was able to put them together that evening but haven’t had a chance to post them until now.

For this project, I am using the fabric Good Neighbors designed by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts. The fabric is sold exclusively at Connecting Threads.

Block 10

Block 10 was very straight forward and easy to sew – five square pieces, and four half square triangles.  I didn’t really think much about how much white  there was in this block, and if  I had, I would have chosen a different print for the HST pieces.

Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 Blocks 7, 8, & 9

I ran across the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 project at Bear Creek Quilting Company an decided it would be a fun project to try.   The project is now in it’s third week, and I’m still really enjoying myself.  Blocks 7, 8, & 9 were released Monday, and I finally got them sewed up yesterday.

For this project, I am using the fabric Good Neighbors designed by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts. The fabric is sold exclusively at Connecting Threads.

Block 7

Block 7 gave me heartache.  😉  I really loved this pink stripe, but I didn’t want all the block stripes to go to the same direction.  After moving blocks around and a few picked and re-sewn seams, I finally had the block looking the way I wanted it to. I love that the stripes butt up against each other everywhere they meet.

Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 Blocks 4, 5, & 6

I ran across the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 project at Bear Creek Quilting Company an decided it would be a fun project to try.  The first three block patterns were released last week, and blocks 4, 5, 6 were released Monday. I ended up not having time to sew the second set of blocks Tuesday night, but I was able to sit down and make them last night while I hung out with a sick kiddo.

I posted the first three blocks of the project HERE.

For this project, I am using the fabric Good Neighbors designed by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts. The fabric is sold exclusively at Connecting Threads.

Block 4

Block 4 was pretty straightforward, and I was really happy that all the points match up really well in the final block!

Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 Blocks 1, 2, & 3

I ran across the Moda Sampler Block Shuffle 2015 project yesterday at Bear Creek Quilting Company. The first three block patterns were released last week, and blocks 4, 5, 6 were released yesterday. I am working with two charm packs from the same fabric line, and I have never worked with quilt pieces on such a small scale. I sewed the first three blocks last night with the intention of sewing the next three tonight, and then every Monday through the rest of the project I will make the remaining blocks.

For this project, I am using the fabric Good Neighbors designed by Amanda Jean at Crazy Mom Quilts. The fabric is sold exclusively at Connecting Threads.
