My Person

Today is Crindalyn’s birthday.  We are exactly six months apart in age.  She is an amazing mother, a genuine friend, a hard worker, and a beautiful soul – inside and out.


How do you quantify a relationship that has spanned over a quarter of a century, through love, laughter, tears, heartbreak, job changes, marriage, divorce, kids, relocations, trauma, adventure, road trips, dreams, and reality?  You just can’t.  At least I can’t. Continue reading

OMG, She’s SOOOO Old!


My sister.  I can’t remember my life without her (I was only 2 when she was born), and I can’t imagine not having her in my life.  We don’t get to spend nearly enough time together between our work schedules, kids’ schedules, and living two hours away from one another, but I know she’s there if I need her and vise versa. Fourteen. Its not a particularly significant number. Not like 16, 18, or 21.

Its not significant unless that’s how old your sweet, funny, outgoing, loving daughter is turning. Then its incredibly significant, special, bittersweet, and magnificent all at once!
